탁월한 피아니스트 알렉산더 코브린은 깊은 감성과 뛰어난 기교가 어우러진 연주로 폭넓은 찬사를 받아왔으며, 오늘날 가장 주목받는 연주자 가운데 한 사람으로 평가받고 있다.

그는 뉴욕 카네기홀과 에이버리 피셔홀, 워싱턴 D.C. 케네디 센터, 런던 로열 앨버트홀과 위그모어홀, 파리 루브르 오디토리움, 살 가보와 살 코르토, 뮌헨 헤라클레스잘, 베를린 필하모니홀, 모스크바 음악원 대강당, 마드리드 국립 오디토리움, 싱가포르 에스플러네이드홀, 밀라노 살라 베르디 등 세계 주요 공연장에서 리사이틀을 가졌다. 

코브린은 뉴욕 필하모닉, 도쿄 필하모닉, 러시아 내셔널 오케스트라, 오케스트라 베르디, 로열 리버풀 필하모닉, 바르샤바 필하모닉, 스웨덴 라디오 오케스트라, 도이치 심포니, BBC 심포니 오케스트라, 잉글리시 체임버 오케스트라 등 세계 유수의 오케스트라와 협연해왔다. 또한 미하일 플레트네프, 미하일 유롭스키, 마크 엘더 경, 제임스 콘론, 바실리 페트렌코 등 저명한 지휘자들과 함께 무대에 올랐다.

국제적인 연주 활동과 더불어 그는 오랜 시간 음악 교육 분야에서도 활발히 활동해왔다. 세 대륙의 여러 음악원에서 마스터클래스를 진행했으며, 클라이번, 부조니, 하마마쓰, 서울, 미켈란젤리 국제 피아노 콩쿠르 등 주요 국제 콩쿠르의 심사위원으로도 참여했다. 그네신 국립음악원과 뉴욕대학교에서 교수직을 역임한 후, 2017년 미국 로체스터의 명문 이스트만 음악대학 교수진에 합류했으며, 2026년 여름 피아노과 학과장으로 임명되었다. 

알렉산더 코브린은 Harmonia Mundi, Quartz, Centaur 레이블을 통해 폭넓은 피아노 문헌을 아우르는 음반을 발매하며 평단의 호평을 받았다. 그의 디스코그래피에는 하이든, 베토벤 피아노 소나타 전곡, 슈베르트, 슈만, 러시아 작곡가들의 작품을 비롯해 힌데미트 바이올린과 피아노를 위한 소나타 전곡 등이 포함되어 있다. 코브린은 반 클라이번, 하마마쓰, 쇼팽, 부조니, 글래스고 등 다수의 국제 피아노 콩쿠르에서 최고상을 수상한 피아니스트이다.

He has appeared in recital at major halls worldwide, including Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Albert Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, the Louvre Auditorium, la Salle Gaveau and Salle Cortot in Paris, Herkulesaal in Munich and and Berlin Philharmonic Hall, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire, National Auditorium in Madrid, Esplanade Hall in Singapore and the Sala Verdi in Milan.

Mr. Kobrin has been an active guest soloist with leading orchestras throughout his career, including the New York Philharmonic, Tokyo Philharmonic, Russian National Orchestra, Orchestra Verdi, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Warsaw Philharmonic, Swedish Radio Orchestra, Deutsche Symphony, BBC Symphony Orchestra and English Chamber Orchestra. Conductors collaborations include Mikhail Pletnev, Mikhail Jurovsky, Sir Mark Elder, James Conlon,Vassiliy Petrenko. 

In addition to his international performing career, Mr. Kobrin has also been an active figure in music education for many years. His masterclass schedule has included engagements with Conservatories in three continents, as well as jury participation for international piano competitions including the Cliburn, Busoni, Hamamatsu, Seoul and Michelangeli international piano competitions. After holding positions at Gnessin State Academy of Music and New York University,, Mr. Kobrin joined the faculty of the renowned Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY in 2017. In the summer of 2026 he accepted the appointment of a Chair of Piano Department. 

Alexander Kobrin has released recordings on the Harmonia Mundi, Quartz, and Centaur labels, covering a wide swath of the piano literature to critical acclaim. His discography includes works by Haydn, Beethoven, (complete piano sonatas), Schubert, Schumann, Russian composers, alongside complete Hindemith violin and piano sonatas. Mr. Kobrin is the top prize winner of numerous international piano competitions including Van Cliburn, Hamamatsu, Chopin, Busoni and Glasgow.
