바이올리니스트 펑 지아는 음악가 집안에서 태어나 3세 때 아버지로부터 바이올린을 배우기 시작하였고, 5세에 성(省) 바이올린 콩쿠르에서 우승하며 일찍이 두각을 나타냈습니다. 

9세에는 중국 전국 청소년 바이올린 콩쿠르에서 2위를 수상하며 전국적인 주목을 받았습니다. 

 그녀는 우한 음악원(Wuhan Conservatory of Music)에서 전액 장학금과 함께 우수한 성적으로 학사 및 석사과정을 마쳤으며, 재학 중 중국의 대표적인 바이올린 교육자 린 야오지(Lin Yaoji) 교수와 숑 전(Xiong Zhen) 교수의 지도를 받았습니다. 이 시기 동안 캐나다 "뮤직 브리지(Music Bridge)" 국제 썸머 캠프, 스위스 국제 썸머 캠프에 전액 장학생으로 참가하였으며, 콘체르토 부문에서 최우수 연주자상(Best Concerto Performer Award)을 수상하였습니다. 

 홍콩에서는 홍콩 공연예술 아카데미(The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts)에 전액 장학생으로 방문학자로 초청되어 활동한 바 있으며, 이후 홍콩 신포니에타(Hong Kong Sinfonietta)의 바이올린 tutti 단원으로 활약했습니다. 연주자이자 교육자로서의 열정을 동시에 갖춘 그녀는 20년 넘게 바이올린 교육에 헌신하며, 학생들이 흥미를 잃지 않으면서도 탄탄한 기초를 다질 수 있는 자신만의 교수법을 개발해 왔습니다. 그녀는 연주 활동을 교육의 핵심 가치로 삼아, 학생들을 위한 음악 활동을 꾸준히 기획하고 있으며, 다양한 바이올린 콩쿠르 출전을 장려하여 수많은 제자들이 우수한 성과를 거두고 있습니다. 

 현재 펑 지아는 1953년 제작된 Charles Adolphe Maucotel 바이올린을 사용하고 있으며, 이는 홍콩 국제 영 뮤지션 콩쿠르 재단의 후원으로 대여받아 연주하고 있습니다.

 Born from a musical family, Ms Feng Jia started learning violin with her father at the age of 3, and won the provincial violin competition champion at the age of 5. 

 At the age of 9, she won the second place in the China National Violin Competition for Youngsters. 

 Ms Feng graduated from Wuhan Conservatory of Music with full scholarship s and first class honours for both bachelor and Master Degree in violin performance and education under the tutelage of Prof. Xiong Zhen and leading violin professor in China, Mr. Lin Yaoji, during that time, she accepted by the Canadian “Music Bridge” International Summer Camp, Swiss International Summer Camp with a full scholarship, and she won the award in the summer camp as the Best Concerto Performer Award in the Competition; During the time in Hong Kong, she was invited as the Visiting Scholar at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a full scholarship. 

 Enjoy both as a performer and educator, she was full time violin tutti in Hong Kong Sinfonietta and one of the most active violin teacher in Hong Kong, she has been devoted to violin education for more than 20 years and developed her own teaching method to help students getting solid foundation without losing interest easily.

Performance as the core value of violin teaching, Ms feng always arrange music activities for students, and also encourage them to participate violin competitions and many of them got brilliant result.
