첼리스트 심준호는 독주, 협연, 실내악, 오케스트라를 넘나들며 폭넓은 음악 활동을 이어가고 있는 한국의 대표적인 첼리스트이다. 깊이 있는 음악성과 뛰어난 테크닉을 바탕으로 국내외 무대에서 활약하고 있으며, 특히 2010년 제40회 주네스 뮤지컬 국제 콩쿠르에서 한국인 최초로 만장일치 우승을 차지하며 국제적인 주목을 받았다. 당시 심사위원장이었던 세계적인 첼리스트 Natalia Gutman은 그를 두고 “머리는 차갑게, 가슴은 뜨겁게 연주하는 진정한 음악가”라고 평하며 그의 예술성과 음악적 성숙도를 높이 평가했다. 심준호는 독일 Folkwang University of the Arts에서 Young-Chang Cho를 사사했으며, 이후 노르웨이 국립음악원에서 Truls Mørk와 Jian Wang에게 배우며 유럽 음악 전통 속에서 자신만의 음악 세계를 구축해왔다. 또한 중앙음악콩쿠르 우승, 안토니오 야니그로 국제 첼로 콩쿠르 2위 등 국내외 주요 콩쿠르에서 우수한 성과를 거두며 연주자로서 입지를 다졌다. 그는 Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra 등 국내 주요 오케스트라와 협연해왔으며, 베를린 융에 필하모닉, 노르웨이 방송교향악단, 자그레브 필하모닉 등 세계 여러 오케스트라와도 꾸준히 무대에 오르고 있다. 또한 노르웨이 베르겐 뮤직페스티벌, 네덜란드 오우드워터 뮤직페스티벌, 헝가리 세게드 뮤직페스티벌 등 다양한 국제 음악제에 초청되어 독주와 협연 무대를 선보였다. 최근에는 특정 작곡가를 집중적으로 조명하는 프로젝트를 이어가며 자신만의 음악적 서사를 구축하고 있다. 2023년에는 슈만 프로그램, 2024년에는 브람스 첼로 소나타 전곡, 2025년에는 베토벤 첼로 소나타 전곡 프로젝트를 진행하며 단순한 연주를 넘어 작곡가의 생애와 철학을 입체적으로 전달하는 기획을 선보이고 있다. 또한 2021년 피아니스트 박종해와 함께 Sony Classical 레이블로 발매한 《베토벤 & 라흐마니노프 첼로 소나타》 음반은 음악계의 호평을 받았다. 이와 함께 그는 서울시립교향악단 수석 첼리스트로 활동하며 오케스트라 연주자로서도 뛰어난 역량을 보여주었고, 2012년부터 칼라치 콰르텟의 창단 멤버로 활동하며 실내악 분야에서도 활발한 연주 활동을 이어가고 있다. 세계적인 현 브랜드 Larsen Strings의 한국인 최초 공식 아티스트로 선정되었으며, 현재는 1710년 제작된 카를로 루게리의 명기 ‘Vaska’를 연주하고 있다. 

Cellist Jun Ho Sim is one of Korea’s leading cellists, actively performing across solo recitals, concerto appearances, chamber music, and orchestral stages. Recognized for his profound musicality and exceptional technique, he has established an international presence through performances in Korea and abroad. In 2010, he gained worldwide recognition by becoming the first Korean musician to win the First Prize unanimously at the 40th Jeunesses Musicales International Competition. At the time, renowned cellist and jury president Natalia Gutman praised him as “a true musician who performs with a cool head and a warm heart,” recognizing both his artistry and musical maturity. 

Jun Ho Sim studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany under Young-Chang Cho, and later continued his studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Truls Mørk and Jian Wang, where he developed his own musical identity within the European classical tradition. He has also received top prizes at numerous prestigious competitions, including the Grand Prize at the JoongAng Music Competition and Second Prize at the Antonio Janigro International Cello Competition. 

 As a soloist, he has performed with major Korean orchestras including the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the KBS Symphony Orchestra, as well as internationally with ensembles such as the Junge Philharmonie Berlin, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, and the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also appeared at renowned international festivals including the Bergen Music Festival in Norway, the Oudewater Music Festival in the Netherlands, and the Szeged Music Festival in Hungary. 

 In recent years, Jun Ho Sim has focused on in-depth composer-centered projects, building his own distinctive artistic narrative. His recent projects include an all-Schumann program in 2023, the complete Brahms Cello Sonatas in 2024, and the complete Beethoven Cello Sonatas project in 2025. Through these performances, he presents not only the music itself but also the life and philosophy of each composer in a multidimensional way. In 2021, he released the album Beethoven & Rachmaninoff Cello Sonatas with pianist Jong Hai Park under the Sony Classical label, receiving critical acclaim. 

Alongside his solo career, he served as Principal Cellist of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, demonstrating outstanding artistry as an orchestral musician. Since 2012, he has also been an active founding member of the Kalaci Quartet, continuing extensive chamber music activities. He was selected as the first Korean official artist of Larsen Strings and currently performs on the 1710 Carlo Rugeri cello “Vaska.”
