피아니스트 이선아는 예원학교, 서울예술고등학교를 거쳐 서울대학교를 우등 졸업 후 미국 University of Michigan에서 Piano Performance석사를 취득하고 동대학에서 전액 장학금 및Rackham Graduate Student Research Grants 를 받고 박사학위를 취득하였다. 재학 중 미국명예음악인 협회 Pi Kappa Lambda의 정회원으로 선출되었으며, 졸업 후 동대학에 출강하여 학, 석사 및 박사과정 학생들의 실내악 수업 전반을 감독 및 지도하였다. 

금호 문화 재단 주최 영 아티스트 콘서트 시리즈 독주회를 통해 데뷔하였고, Internationale Sommerakademie Mozarteum, The Banff Centre Keyboard Festival, Wiener Musikseminar, Euro Music Festival, Prague International Piano Masterclasses, Millennium International Piano Festival in Spain 등에 참가, 연주하고 Atlantic Music Festival에서Resident Artist로 초청받아 연주하였다. 한국, 미국 뿐 아니라 유럽, 중국, 브라질 등에서 활발한 연주활동을 펼쳐온 그는 Kennedy Center의 Millennium Stage, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Guest Artist Series, The Gilmore Keyboard Festival, Teatro Pedro Ivo in Floriaópolis 등에서 초청받아 연주하였고, 중국의 Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, University of Michigan Student Symphony Orchestra 등과 협연하였다. Bloomfield County Public Television에 연주실황이 방송 되었으며, University Musical Society Pre-concert Lecture Series등에 초청받아 강연하였다. 솔로 연주뿐 아니라 실내악 음악에도 깊은 관심을 보여온 그는Beaux Art Trio 의 멤버인 Menahem Pressler, Altenberg Trio, Takacs Quartet 등에게 사사받고Rackham Chamber Music Series, Schumann Piano Chamber Music Concert, Beethoven Sonata Obsession Series, Glacier Hills Music Appreciation Concerts, Opera on Tap Concerts등에 초청받아 연주하였으며, Trio Amethyst를 결성하여 실내악 연주에 힘썼다. 귀국 후 예술의 전당 리사이틀 홀에서의 독주회를 시작으로 예술의 전당 IBK홀, 금호아트홀, 일신홀, 한국소리문화의전당 등에서 ‘20세기 미국음악으로의 여행’, ‘G.F.Handel’, ‘베토벤 탄생250주년 기념’, ‘The Art of Sonata’ 등의 주제로 리사이틀을 가졌으며, 앙상블더스텔라, 프렌즈오브뮤직 등을 통한 앙상블 음악회로 꾸준히 관객과 만나고 있다.

After graduating as honor student from Seoul National University through Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, pianist Lee Sun-ah obtained a master's degree in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan, a full scholarship, obtained Rackham Graduate Student Research Grants, and got doctorate from the university. While attending, she was elected a full-time member of the American Association of Honorary Musicians Pi Kappa Lambda, and after graduation, she attended the university to supervise and guide the overall chamber music classes of students with academic, master's, and doctoral degrees.

She made her debut through a solo concert series of young artists hosted by the Kumho Cultural Foundation, and was invited to perform at the International Sommerakademie Mozarteum, The Banff Centre Keyboard Festival, Wiener Musikseminar, Euro Music Festival, Prague International Piano Masters, Millennium International Piano Festival, and was invited to perform as a Resident Artist at Atlantic Music Festival. 

Having performed actively in Korea, the United States, Europe, China, and Brazil, she was invited to play at the Millennium Stage at Kennedy Center, the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Guest Artist Series, The Gilmore Keyboard Festival, Teatro Pedro Ivo in Floriaopolis, and collaborated with Sichuan Symphony Orchestra of China and University of Michigan Student Symphony. The performance was broadcast on Bloomfield County Public Television, and she was invited to give lectures at the University Musical Society Pre-Concert Lecture Series. Having shown a keen interest in chamber music as well as solo performances, she was taught by Menahem Pressler, Altenberg Trio, and Takacs Quartet, members of Beaux Art Trio, and was invited to play chamber music such as the Rackham Chamber Music Series, Schumann Piano Chamber Music Concert, Beethoven Sonata Observation Series, and Glacier Concerto and also formed Trio Amethyst and worked hard on chamber music.

After returning to Korea, she held recitals under the themes of "Travel to 20th Century American Music," "G.F.Handel," “Beethoven’s 250th anniversary”, "The Art of Sonata" at the Seoul Arts Center IBK Hall, Kumho Art Hall, IIshin Hall, and Korea Sound Culture Center and is meeting with the audience consistently with ensemble concerts through Ensemble Dustella and Friends of Music.
