국내 정상의 피아니스트 강충모, 

그가 2000년을 전후로 고행 끝에 보여준 바흐 전곡 시리즈는 "세속의 그늘에서 벗어나 고독과 싸우며 외골수적인 몰입의 극한을 견디어내는 순도 높은 진지함을 통해 많은 청중들의 가슴속에 지울 수 없는 각인으로 남아있다"는 평을 얻고 있다. 국내에서는 유일하게, 세계적으로도 그 유래가 드문 바흐 전곡시리즈를 통해서 그는 음악계와 음악 애호가들로부터 최고의 찬사를 받았으며 "구도자의 모습"으로 우리시대의 혼탁한 정신을 순화시킴으로써 한국 피아노 연주사의 큰 획을 긋게 되었다.

일찍이 동아콩쿠르 1위와 유수의 국제 콩쿠르 1위 입상으로 그의 탁월한 연주력을 세계무대에 과시했으며, 국내를 대표하는 오케스트라와의 협연은 물론, 런던 필하모닉, 모스크바 필하모닉, 체코 국립 교향악단 등과 협연하였고 대만, 워싱턴 케네디 센터, 카네기 리사이틀 홀, 호주 시드니 오페라 하우스, 영국 런던과 옥스포드 등지에서 연주하였으며, 밴쿠버에서는 한국과 캐나다 수교 40주년 기념 초청 연주 무대를 가졌고, 러시아 최고의 피아니스트 타티아나 니콜라예바 서거 10주년 추모음악회의 일환으로 모스크바와 페테르부르크에서 초청독주회를 가진 바 있다. 그의 음반으로는 바흐 골드베르크 변주곡, 인벤션과 신포니아, 평균율 등이 있으며 특히 골드베르크 변주곡은 세계적인 피아니스트이자 지휘자인 레온 플라이셔에게서 "골드베르크 음반사(史)에 뛰어나게 자리매김할 가히 장관을 이루는 연주"라는 극찬을 받은 바 있다. 서울음대 졸업 후 도미, San Francisco Conservatory에서 석사 학위를 취득한 후 Peabody Conservatory에서 Artist Diploma과정을 마치고 박사과정을 이수하던 중, 피바디 음대 교수 채용 오디션에서 선발되어 피바디 교수를 역임하기도 하였던 그는 다수의 국제콩쿠르 입상자를 배출해내는 교육자로서의 기량과 재능마저도 겸비한 탁월한 음악가이다. 그의 제자들은 밴클라이번, 리즈, 포르토, 쥬네스 뮤지칼, 에틀링겐, 에피날, 지나 박하우어, 더블린, 롱티보, 샹하이 국제콩쿠르 등, 수많은 콩쿠르에서 상위 입상하였다. 

2005년 10월에는 한국인 최초로 바르샤바 쇼팽 국제콩쿠르 (2005)의 심사위원으로 위촉되었고 그 외에 더블린, 샹하이, 시드니, 클리블랜드, 센다이, 서울 국제 콩쿠르, 비엔나 베토벤 콩쿠르, 라이프찌히 바흐 콩쿠르 등 권위 있는 국제 콩쿠르의 심사위원으로 활동하고 있다. 라이프찌히 유로 뮤직 페스티발의 음악감독 역임 및 일본 이시카와 뮤직 페스티발, 미국 아스펜 국제 음악제 등 권위 있는 음악제에 교수로 활동하였으며 한국예술종합학교 음악원과 줄리아드 음악원 교수를 역임하였고 현재 활발한 연주활동을 펼치고 있다.

The series of Bach songs, which he showed after tribulation around 2000, is said to remain an indelible imprint on the hearts of many audiences through his pure seriousness of fighting solitude and enduring the limit of single-minded immersion. Through the Bach series, being the only one who’s done in Korea and extremely rare even worldwide, he received the best praise from the music industry and music lovers, and he made a big mark in the history of Korean piano by purifying the murky spirit of our time as a true pioneer. 

In his early years, he proved his talent by placing 1st in Dong-Ah conquer and many other international conquers. He has performed with Korea's finest orchestras, the London Philharmonic, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Taiwan, Washington Kennedy Center, Carnegie Recital Hall, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Canada held in Vancouver and was invited play a solo concert in Moscow and Petersburg as part of a commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the death of Russia’s top pianist Tatiana Nikolayeva.

His albums include Bach's Goldberg Variations, Inventions and Sinfonia, and Average, and in particular, Goldberg Variations have been praised by world-renowned pianist and conductor Leon Fleischer as "a spectacular performance that will stand out in Goldberg's record label." After graduating from Seoul Music University, he completed his master's degree at the San Francisco Conservatory and completed his Ph.D. at the Peabody Conservatory. He was selected as a Peabody professor and served as a Peabody professor. His students have won top prizes in numerous competitions, including Vancliven, Leeds, Porto, Junes Musical, Etlingen, Epinal, Gina Bakhauer, Dublin, Longtivo and Shanghai International Competition.

In October 2005, he was appointed as the first Korean to be a judge of the Warsaw Chopin International Competition (2005) and was also a judge of prestigious international competitions such as Dublin, Shanghai, Sydney, Cleveland, Sendai, Seoul International Competition, Vienna Beethoven Competition, and Leipzig Bach Competition. He has been a music director at the Leipzig Euro Music Festival and has been a professor at prestigious music festivals such as the Ishikawa Music Festival in Japan and the Aspen International Music Festival in the United States.
