바이올리니스트 서세원은 서울예고를 졸업하고 서울대학교 음악대학 재학 중 도독하여, 독일 쾰른 음악대학을 거쳐 스위스 베른 음악대학을 수석으로 졸업(Solist Diplom취득)하였다. 

일찍이 국내외의 콩쿨에 입상하였는데 독일 쾰른 Tonger 콩쿨 1위, 스위스 Tibor Varga 국제 바이올린 콩쿨, 중앙 음악 콩쿨, 동아 음악 콩쿨 등에서 입상하여 탁월한 음악적 재능을 인정받았을 뿐 아니라 1990년 스위스 음악협회가 선정한 “최우수 연주가상”을 수상하기도 하였다. 그는 국내외의 교향악단인서울 시립 교향악단, 인천시립교향악단, 광주시립교향악단, 부천 필하모니, 코리안 심포니, 독일 쾰른 음대 오케스트라, 스위스 베른 음대 오케스트라, 독일 Siegerland 오케스트라, 스위스 베른 심포니 오케스트라, 짤쯔부르거 캄머 필하모니, 한-오 오케스트라, 오스트리아 케른트너 캄모 아카데미, 오스트리아 케른트너 심포니 오케스트라 등과 협연 무대를 가졌고, 서울, 스위스 베른, 오스트리아 클라겐푸르트, 독일 쾰른, 비엔나 뮤직 페어라인등에서 다수의 바이올린 독주회를 가졌다. 서울 대학 시절 서울 챔버 단원으로 활동한 바 있으며 수차례의 실내악 연주도 가졌다.

 또한 1999-2003년까지 슬로베니아 국립교향악단의 객원 악장을 역임하였고 오스트리아, 슬로베니아, 이탈리아, 하기 마이스터 코스에서 지도교수로 활동하고 있으며, 슬로베니아, 이탈리아 국제 콩쿨 심사위원으로 활동하고 있다. 현재는 오스트리아 Gustav Mahler Privatuniversität für Musik의 교수로 후학 양성에 힘쓰고 있다. 

Violinist Seowon Seo graduated from the Seoul Arts High School and studied at the Seoul National University College of Music before moving to Germany. He continued his studies at the Cologne University of Music and later graduated at the top of his class from the Bern University of the Arts in Switzerland, earning a Solist Diplom. 

 From an early age, Seo received recognition for his exceptional musical talent through various national and international competitions. His achievements include First Prize at the Tonger Competition in Cologne, as well as prizes at the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition in Switzerland, the Dong-A Music Competition, and the JoongAng Music Competition in Korea. In 1990, he was honored with the "Best Performer Award" by the Swiss Music Association. He has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras both in Korea and abroad, including the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Gwangju Philharmonic Orchestra, Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Korean Symphony Orchestra. Internationally, he has appeared with the Cologne University of Music Orchestra, Bern University Orchestra, Siegerland Orchestra (Germany), Bern Symphony Orchestra, Salzburger Kammerphilharmonie, the Korea-Austria Orchestra, the Carinthian Chamber Academy, and the Carinthian Symphony Orchestra in Austria. Seo has also held numerous violin recitals in cities such as Seoul, Bern (Switzerland), Klagenfurt (Austria), Cologne (Germany), and at the Musikverein in Vienna. During his university years, he was a member of the Seoul Chamber Ensemble, and he has been actively engaged in chamber music performances. 

 From 1999 to 2003, he served as a guest concertmaster of the Slovenian National Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his performing career, he has been a faculty member and instructor at masterclasses in Austria, Slovenia, and Italy. He also serves as a jury member for international competitions in Slovenia and Italy. Currently, he is a professor at Gustav Mahler Privatuniversität für Musik in Austria, dedicating himself to educating and mentoring the next generation of musicians.
