세계 음악계에서 확고한 위상을 확립한 피아니스트 세르게이 타라소프(Sergei Tarasov) 는 국제 콩쿠르 세계 연맹(WFIMC) 산하의 최고 권위 국제 콩쿠르들에서 연이어 두각을 나타내며 국제 무대의 중심에 선 연주자이다. 시드니 피아노 국제콩쿠르, 프라하의 봄 국제콩쿠르, 몬테카를로 국제콩쿠르, 스페인 국제콩쿠르에서의 1위를 비롯해, 부조니 국제콩쿠르와 아르투르 루빈스타인 국제콩쿠르 2위, 차이코프스키 국제콩쿠르 4위 등 그의 수상 경력은 동시대 피아니스트 가운데서도 독보적인 경쟁력과 예술적 완성도를 입증한다.

타라소프는 러시아를 기반으로 유럽, 아시아, 오세아니아를 아우르며 세계 주요 음악 페스티벌과 최정상급 콘서트홀에 꾸준히 초청되어 왔다. 모스크바 볼쇼이 홀, 모스크바 국제 공연예술센터, 상트페테르부르크 필하모닉 홀, 도쿄 산토리 홀, 밀라노 살라 베르디, 시드니 오페라하우스, 잘츠부르크 모차르테움, 파리 살 가보 등 세계 음악사의 상징적인 무대에서 수백 회의 독주회를 가졌으며, 러시아 국립교향악단, 모스크바 필하모닉, 상트페테르부르크 심포니, 도쿄 메트로폴리탄, 시드니 심포니, 이스라엘 필하모닉 등 세계 정상급 오케스트라들과의 협연을 통해 국제적 신뢰를 확고히 해왔다. 2017년에는 중국 23개 도시를 순회하는 대규모 콘서트 투어를 성공적으로 완주하며 글로벌 아티스트로서의 입지를 더욱 공고히 했다.

바딤 레핀(Vadim Repin), 알렉산더 부즐로프(Alexander Buzlov), 클라라 주미 강(Clara Jumi Kang) 등 세계적 연주자들과의 협연과 유럽 투어로도 잘 알려진 그는, 폴란드 아르투르 루빈스타인 피아노 페스티벌을 비롯한 세계 주요 음악 페스티벌 무대에 초청되어 활동해 왔다. 또한 바딤 레핀이 음악감독으로 참여한 러시아 주요 음악제 개막 공연에서 라흐마니노프 피아노 협주곡 2번을 연주하며 러시아 음악 전통에 대한 깊은 이해와 해석을 선보였다.

최근에는 바딤 레핀과 함께한 CBS 창사 70주년 기념 공연 “The 차이코프스키” 를 비롯해 중국 Lanzhou International Piano Festival, 예술의전당과 롯데콘서트홀, 모스크바 볼쇼이 홀, 연천 DMZ 국제음악제 등 국내외 주요 무대에서 협연, 독주, 마스터클래스를 이어가며 폭넓은 활동을 전개해 왔다. 이러한 흐름 속에서 2026년 1·2월, 러시아에서 모차르트, 그리그, 라벨의 왼손을 위한 피아노 협주곡을 중심으로 한 오케스트라 협연과 다수의 독주회를 성공적으로 마치며, 고전에서 낭만, 인상주의에 이르는 폭넓은 레퍼토리 스펙트럼과 성숙한 음악 세계를 다시 한 번 각인시켰다.

또한 2026년에는 대한민국 전국 투어 협연을 비롯한 다수의 공연이 예정되어 있으며, 끊이지 않는 초청과 이어지는 무대 속에서 그의 음악에 대한 뜨거운 관심과 인기는 여전히 식을 줄 모르고 있다.

Lev Naumov was one of Russia’s most distinguished pianists and pedagogues, a legendary professor of piano in the lineage of Heinrich Neuhaus.

Pianist Sergei Tarasov has established a distinguished presence on the international music scene. He has come to the forefront of the global stage through a succession of outstanding achievements at some of the world’s most prestigious international competitions affiliated with the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC). His accolades include First Prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition, the Prague Spring International Competition, the Monte Carlo International Competition, and the Spanish International Piano Competition; Second Prize at the Busoni International Piano Competition and the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition; and Fourth Prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. These honors attest to his exceptional artistic distinction and competitive standing among pianists of his generation.

Based in Russia, Tarasov has been regularly invited to leading music festivals and major concert halls across Europe, Asia, and Oceania. He has given hundreds of solo recitals on some of the world’s most iconic stages, including the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Moscow International Performing Arts Center, St. Petersburg Philharmonia, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Sala Verdi in Milan, the Sydney Opera House, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and Salle Gaveau in Paris. He has also earned strong international recognition through collaborations with world-class orchestras, including the Russian National Orchestra, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2017, he further solidified his stature as a global artist by successfully completing a large-scale concert tour across 23 cities in China.

Well known for his collaborations and European tours with internationally renowned artists such as Vadim Repin, Alexander Buzlov, and Clara-Jumi Kang, Tarasov has appeared at major music festivals around the world, including the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Festival in Poland. He also performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 at the opening concert of a major Russian music festival under the artistic direction of Vadim Repin, demonstrating his deep understanding and interpretation of the Russian musical tradition.

In recent years, Tarasov has continued to pursue a wide range of activities, including concerto performances, solo recitals, and masterclasses on major stages in Korea and abroad. These include “The Tchaikovsky,” a concert commemorating the 70th anniversary of CBS, performed with Vadim Repin; the Lanzhou International Piano Festival in China; performances at the Seoul Arts Center and Lotte Concert Hall; the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory; and the Yeoncheon DMZ International Music Festival. In January and February 2026, he successfully completed a series of orchestral collaborations and solo recitals in Russia, centered on concertos by Mozart and Grieg, as well as Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand. Through these performances, he once again demonstrated the breadth of his repertoire—from the Classical and Romantic periods to Impressionism—and the maturity of his musical artistry.

In 2026, numerous performances are scheduled, including a nationwide concerto tour in Korea. With ongoing invitations and appearances on major stages, the enthusiasm and admiration for his music remain as strong as ever.

Currently, Sergei Tarasov serves as Professor of Piano at the College of Music and Performing Arts at Keimyung University. Alongside his active performing career on the world stage, he is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
